What we’re up to - long

I've been slacking and haven't blogged in a few days...sorry. It has been busy!

This past Saturday my parents came to Duluth with their truck so that Andy and my dad could get a couple loads of dirt to fill in some areas of our yard that got ruined last year during the whole sewer issue. They also went to pick up our crib and a new "big girl dresser" for Kaitlyn's room. The crib doesn't fit in our cars without taking all the pieces out of the box which is a pain! Unfortunately the store made a mistake and had the tags out for the crib, but no crib in stock. They paid, and then after it was all paid for were told the crib wasn't there. Andy was mad because the guy he talked to was being kind of jerky...but he ended up getting an extra $30 off the crib, which was already on sale. Go Andy! It should be in within a couple of weeks. We did get the dresser though, which will replace the dresser/changing table in Kaitlyn's room now, which is being moved to Baby G's room of course. And while Andy and my dad did all their work, my mom and Kaitlyn and I hung out around home. We went to Target and I spent too much money. Then I drove my mom by Kaitlyn's daycare just for fun.

On Sunday we were busy again. We put a small dent in organizing junk in the new soon to be nursery. (I am off today and I hope to put another dent in it). We went and ran some errands. I got new sheets for our bed. Nice comfy ones and I am so excited. Doesn't take much these days. We bought our flowers for the summer and Andy planted them while I kept him company (and Kaitlyn was sleeping). Andy has been very generous in letting me buy stuff for the kids (like clothes) and I found a super cute dress for Kaitlyn. As well as a couple of cute outfits I bought the day before...and a thing or two for Baby G...in addition to the over-abundance of stuff we already have for them...Yeah someone needs to stop me! No, actually as much as I love shopping, I am able to stop myself when I need to :-)

Kaitlyn is doing good. She has had a learning explosion the last couple of weeks. She has been saying a ton of new words...shoe, milk (which was just today..she said "mil"), bubble, uh-oh (I am sure I already blogged about the uh-oh's), bird, and I think she is saying "puppy" too. If we ask her to get certain things, she knows what we mean and will get them and bring them to us. Like shoe, Care-bear, milk, ball, etc. It is just SO much fun to watch her! This weekend Andy tried out her wagon (a Christmas present from some family) with her and she loved it. She is also really into books lately - she brings them to me over and over and over again so that I will read them to her. It's a good thing we have enough books to last 10000 years so that there can be some variety. Most of her books are in her bedroom but I keep a few downstairs, and just switch them out when I get tired of reading the same ones over and over.
I also got her a new Baby Einstein Video (Numbers 1-5) which she likes. There is a little horse puppet on it that she always laughs at. She laughs a lot lately...even playing on her own sometimes, she will just start giggling to herself. I love it :-)

As for me...I am getting huger and huger. My stomach is officially in my way. Baby G is still moving a crazy amount and making me wonder if she will come out as a seasoned gymnast, or with a black belt in karate. I am unfortunately having a lot of sciatic pain which brings me back to be pre-back surgery days. Though it isn't nearly as bad as it was before my surgery, it is still bad enough at times to stop me for a second and make me cringe. Luckily I think that time is going to be going by very fast. We have plans for most of the next several weekends already (going to see my parents, working around the house, going to Crane Lake) and I have a feeling all those plans are really going to make time fly by. Which is good because I am excited to meet Baby G. Baby G might have a name, I mentioned that. But we are still debating a middle name for it and until we find a middle name we might not announce it. In fact we might keep it on the down low until the birth, I don't know yet. Some family knows what the possible name is, but otherwise I have not told anybody.

So I guess that's all. I should get going and accomplish something. Or take a nap?
