Today's most notable conversation with Kaitlyn:
"Mommy, is daddy married?"
"Yea, daddy is married to me!"
"Are you married?"
"Yep, Im married to daddy"
"Am I married?"
"Noooo....you are too young for that. In many many years when you are older and bigger, that will come"
"Awwwww why not"
"You are too little"
"Oh, I gotta get big and big and big and big?"
"yes"
"big and giant?"
"yes"
"and then I can be married?"
"We will see"

The day the power went out...or not?
It has been gorgeous lately - unseasonably warm. So warm in fact, that the other day there was a little thunderstorm. That evening as we sat around the dinner table, Kaitlyn told us about her day at daycare. Andy asked if she had seen or heard the thunderstorm, and this prompted a story about how the power went out at daycare so she and her friends were using flashlights and what not. She repeated the story several times. She said she cried when the power went out and also that she cried when it came back on. We asked if it was for a long time or just a short time and she said it was just a short time that it was off. She was so insistent and detailed about the power going out, Andy and I really thought maybe it did. So a couple of days later, Andy asked daycare....
Nope. Power never went out or even flashed. Where Kaitlyn came up with this big story from, I don't know. It sure was convincing though!

Oh no she did-int?
Today Kaitlyn was misbehaving and I asked her "Do you want a time out?" She looked at me and said "No! Do YOU want a time out?!" It was so hard to keep from laughing. Once I composed myself and felt confident that I could speak without laughing, I very seriously told her that she cannot give mommy time-outs.
Not that I don't ever need one.

Brianna's new growth spurt
Not a physical growth spurt, but a language one. While she has remained pretty quiet for awhile now (saying some words but only when she is in a talkative mood and otherwise impossible to get her to make a peep), she is starting to say more and more in the last couple of weeks. Here is a short, off the top of my head list, of what she says or has said: Mama, dada, hi, bye, wow, uh-oh, bird, bubble, daycare, done, no, kitty, puppy, yay...and I know I am missing some, but I dont have time as I am writing with just a few minutes to spare before I leave for work.
Speaking of work - going well and I have been continuing to take advantage of some overtime which is nice. Saving money for that trip to Vegas in April! Not sure if I have mentioned that here, but I am going to Vegas with Andy's sisters and his mom. It should be a great time!
One other big news item may seem boring and insignificant to some, but we ordered a new washer and dryer last night! It was the first day of the "cash for clunkers" appliance rebate in Minnesota, and Andy worked hard all morning to get through on the website. Finally, he got lucky and we were able to secure our rebate. So last night, off we went to purchase our new washer and dryer (which we had already picked out long ago). The washer is on back order so it will be a couple of weeks, but I will survive. I am just excited to have something nice, that isn't 20+ years old and will do a good job. And something bigger. Andy did some research and it appears our current washer may only even be 2.8 cubic feet. Our new one is 4.1. The first thing I am going to do is wash our comforter!!! It will be awesome that I don't have to haul it elsewhere to wash it My goodness, I am getting old - look how excited I am over a new appliance... I can't help it, I have been looking forward to this since not long after we moved into our house 5 years ago. So it has been a long time in the making. Three WOOTS for a new washer and dryer!!
