Uh-oh, bird, and bubble are Kaitlyn's newest words...especially "uh-oh". She has been saying it a lot the last couple of days. She always says it when she drops things (accidentally or on purpose). Although most often she says it after purposefully dropping or throwing food.
She even looked at me during supper last night, said "uh oh" and then dropped her sippy cup. What a little stinker....a really, really cute little stinker!

Gas Prices, NBC Late Night, Kaitlyn’s teeth
So the the other day Andy said he heard some "expert" or "analyst" or whatever, say that he would not be surprised if gas were to be $12 a gallon some day (far in the future I assume). WTF? Like Andy and I were talking, it is so stupid for an "expert" to be out there spouting off this crap. Even if you think it...just please keep it to yourself. Why? Because all it does when "experts" start predicting $12 a gallon gas is make it more likely to be true. The gas big wigs can say to themselves "huh, NOW everyone is expecting gas to be $12 a gallon anyways... so might as well go for it!". It turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy. See what I am saying?
And by the way, in the event that gas ever was $12 a gallon....I would definitely be way in shape because I would be walking or biking everywhere. Seriously.
On a happier note....I am a big Conan fan...I can't wait until next year when he takes over for Jay Leno. I like Jay too but Conan is my favorite. Once he takes Jay's place, he will be on 1 hour earlier at night which means it will be easier for me to see him once in awhile (besides when I am working which by then I hope to not be doing night shifts anymore, anyhow). Jimmy Fallon from SNL is taking over for Conan I guess...I don't know much about him but he seems okay. I am just glad that Carson Daly isn't taking Conan's spot. I love NBC late night with the exception of Carson. I just don't think he is very funny. I absolutely despise the beginning of his show when they often start off by joining a "press conference already in progress" with Carson Daly. It is always so stupid and unfunny. That is about the time of night at work that, if I have nothing productive to do, I will come on the computer. As a matter of fact Carson is on right now as I type. (Although I do have some actual work-related things to do...but I am procrastinating). But the good news is that after Carson is Poker After Dark...and I have written before about my love for Poker After Dark. I am particularly fond of Phil Hellmuth and Phil Laak. They are GREAT entertainment!
Oh yeah and there is exciting news in the world of Kaitlyn's teeth. She has 4 right now but there are 2 more that are VERY close to coming through (her gums are white, swollen, and pushed out where they are), plus another 2 that look to be getting ready as well. Andy got a good look the other day. After he told me about this, I had a dream that Kaitlyn woke up one day with a mouth full of teeth...just all of a sudden they were all there. Wouldn't that be nice? Poor girl is dealing with so much pain in her mouth I think...she has been somewhat cranky and I am sure that is why. I don't blame her...the 2 that are really close look to be very painful. I know if it was me dealing with that, I would be cranky too. In fact. I would probably be a bigger baby about it than she is!

Blogging, myspace layouts, Baby G’s nursery, blah blah.
Blogging
Give me a quick comment if you read my blogs sometimes but don't normally make yourself known. Come out of the myspace shadows! Just a "Hi" will do. I know there is someone out there, because I can see the of views and there are usually several a day. And do you think I should just keep it to myspace for now, or should I expand out into the real blogging world? I imagine that once I have 2 little girls 18-19 months apart, I will have plenty of adventures to blog about...
(though less time to do it in).
Myspace layouts
Do you notice I finally changed my layout for the first time in AGES? It was between that one and another one...I still could change, I don't know. I am very picky about this. What are my requirement? Well:
1. A layout has to be fun but easy to read (no pink writing on orange background).
2. Nothing that has moving extras, because that only gives people a headache (for example, little hearts falling all around + animated sparkly headlines + a long heart trail after the cursor).
3. I hate when the layout itself is really busy but there is no solid background for the text so you are trying to read words which are situated over multi colored patterns and stuff...it is impossible to read! You will notice that any background I pick will always have solid colored boxes where any text goes (about me, music, friends, comments, etc).
4. I also personally dislike too many extra images/polls/"I am 88% slutty" kind of things, because it takes a long time to load on a lot of people's computers. If there is enough of that crap it even causes computers to crash. Less is more people!
5. I have to make sure that the "Home" link, along with all those other ones that go across the top, still work. Some layouts cause the "Home" link to be overridden by a link to the website where you got your layout. I hate being on someone's page and trying to click home, only to be taken to some random stupid myspace layout site.
6. I hate when the site that made/offers the layout is plastered all over the place. Trust me, if you look around you can find layouts where the site isn't plastered all over. Obviously they need to have their name on it somewhere for advertising purposes, but not all are so...in your face.
7. No single images tiled all over the page. Yuck!
With my pickiness in mind, I even saved the code for my old layout in case I chicken out and change my mind or in case I am just not satisfied with a new layout. Yeah, it's only myspace so big whoopin deal right? But all of this critical layout decision making is passing my time while I try to stay awake so that is a good thing!
Speaking of staying awake - my strategy for staying awake is starting to fail me...I can feel myself getting sleepy. If I stay here long enough I will fall asleep right here at the computer like I did a couple of weeks ago!
Baby G's room
Oh one more thing to update you on as if you care....We started stage 1 of "Project Baby G's nursery". Well, Andy started it. By moving one of the desks downstairs and setting up our new "office" area. We now offically have our "office" in our living/dining room and are using the new computer 100%. The two old computers are sitting lonely and disconnected up in the soon-to-be nursery. The next part of this stage is to remove the rest of the crap from the room...a couple of full bookcases, a file cabinet, another desk, the computers, and tons of other various stuff. Once the room is empty, I will clean out the closet. We also will need to take out the carpeting, paint, get the furniture, decorate, find a new place for the cat litter (which isn't in the main room but it is in an adjoining "room" and there is no door between)...it seems like so much to do with so little time left!
YIKES!

Gas...eeew.
Don't worry...I am referring to the variety that you put in your vehicle. I just got gas... for my mid-sized car...$45. Ugh. It is sick, and it makes me sick to know that it is only going to get worse.
24 week appointment
Everything is good as usual...I gained 4 lbs which I am SO excited about. Now I am only down 6 or 8 lbs from pre-pregnancy. Yay me! Baby's heart rate was good and the doctor commented on how the baby was so active. She kept moving around and running away from the doppler. Er, swimming away. Whatever. lol.
Soon somebody will be calling me to set up the date for my c-section! That will be my baby's birthday, crazy to think I am actually setting up my baby's birthday. Though actually I don't care what date it is, I just would like it to be a Friday if possible because that works best to get the most out of Andy's leave the following week :-) I could still go into labor before the set date in which case the date we pick won't matter anymore. I have a feeling that will be what happens...I think this baby wants to pick her own birthday! Only time will tell though....I just feel like I am going to go into labor early.
And we may have come up with a name...I won't announce it quite yet though. Just stay tuned. "Baby G" might not have to be called "Baby G" much longer

A wiener article, personal ad, and my little hyperactive kicker.
I was reading Duluth's free "Weekly reader" and found myself slightly amused. Then I came to the humorous, rambling article "Please stop sliding wieners down your throat", and found myself moderately amused. It was a funny article, about how weird and unnatural it is that anybody could or would possibly eat 41 hot dogs in 10 minutes like they do in those competitive eating contests. The author's comments, opinions, and "observations" were very funny.
Then I came to this: "I find it very hypocritical that Americans celebrate people who can easily slide hot dogs down their throat, yet condemn porn starlets who possess the very same skills". That kicked my amusement into high gear. Maybe I am just weird but I find that hilarious. lol
Next, I was looking at the personal ads in back (yes, I was bored) and had to laugh at the following ad: "Bring it on! SWF, 29, ISO SWM 28+ who is insecure, instable, emotionally unavailable, and carries lots of baggage. No personality or sense of humor a plus. No job? Write to me." That is also some funny stuff.
Who knew that a personal ad, and an article on wieners could entertain me so? Thanks, Weekly Reader.
Oh and on a side note, I think this new baby is destined to become some soccer star or something. Seriously, I wish you could understand the huge difference between this one's activity and what Kaitlyn's was like. I'm almost wondering if she might be born wearing a black belt, and then when we all question "what is that?" she will start busting out in some crazy complicated karate moves.

On the road again
So the last week or so I have been noticing something that is driving me nuts. Or rather, makes me kind of mad and annoyed. I mean, really, it isn't my problem...but when people don't wear motorcycle helmets I really cringe. No offense to you if you or your loved ones don't wear a helmet, but I think it is STUPID. STUPID STUPID STUPID.
Ok, and this last one has nothing to do with driving, but I just saw the New Kids on the Block perform for the first time in 15 years, on the Today Show. This whole NKOTB reunion is a little fun for memories sake (if you were a fan back in the day) but in the end it was a little ridiculous. In my opinion they absolutely sucked today. They're just like overgrown teen wannabes trying to be hip. They sounded awful. lol But I was a fan back in the day so I listened for a few minutes anyways. Fun times.

Kids are funny
And Kaitlyn...she is pretty darn funny herself. Her new thing is to go around waving and saying "Hi" to everyone and everything. I love her so much! lol

One more weekend gone... (long, random one).
One more weekend gone... (long, random one).
Baby GAs the weeks go by I can't believe how fast time is flying...and I can only imagine how fast this whole summer is going to go by. I have a feeling that this baby will be coming early. We will be having a c-section scheduled, but I have a feeling baby will come earlier than that. But we shall see! Andy is thinking we might have an early to mid August baby. Who knows....In any case, it is coming quickly and we need to get started on the room! And this child, I am telling you, is an acrobat/kickboxer. She already makes my belly visibly go "bloop"...and I am only 23 weeks along! The kicks I feel right now are comparable to the kicks I felt with Kaitlyn at more like 30-32 weeks. Crazyness...pure crazyness.
Our weekend in Crane Lake
So we just got home from a weekend in Crane Lake. I love it there (seeing as how I met Andy there, got married there, spent 6 summers living/working there, etc.), the only problem is that there is never enough time to do everything we want/need to do. We didn't even leave until almost 5:00 which is late for us, especially since we had to stop by my parent's house on the way home. We still didn't do all we wanted to! And of course the weekend always starts out crappy and stays crappy throughout Saturday. Sunday morning is always a little better but still not great...and then Sunday afternoon when we are leaving, it turns BEAUTIFUL. This weekend was true to form. Makes it hard to leave....it wouldn't be so bad leaving if the weather was crap. But at least we made it out to do some fishing (Andy caught a few really nice ones, I just caught one small one...it was hard this year because of the late ice out, the Gorge was closed off as the fish are still spawning in there). And we made it to Vermilion falls. Andy and I took Kaitlyn and our nephew Aaron. Got some nice pics (will have to post soon) and just had fun showing Kaitlyn the sights. And the deer both on the way there and back were out in double full force. Even coming into Duluth they were everywhere in people's yards. Munching away on the newly green grass. In fact I think there is one laying by some trees behind our alley right now. It is hard to tell for sure, since it is so dark, but I swore I saw one laying there.
Next weekend's plans
This coming weekend my parents are coming with their truck so we can get some errands done that require a bigger vehicle like hauling in some dirt/gravel and buying a few things we have money set aside for like the crib and dishwasher, neither of which fit in our cars. Actually the crib does fit, but only if we take it out of the box before we put it in the trunk, which Andy did last time, but is a pain in the butt! Also, my dad will help Andy move one of the computer desks downstairs and we can set up our new "office"...and get going on the nursery. We can finally start painting and buying stuff for it, I can't wait! Have to clean out the closet...that will be fun....rip up the carpeting....wheee! Oh and you know what else I can't wait for, is Red Lobster next weekend! Hopefully we can make it...the only bummer is that I can't have a drink while we are out. Obviously it is worth it but it would be so nice to have a pina colada for my birthday. Ah well I can get a non-alcoholic one! Oooh or raspberry lemonade, I love that! And it usually comes with refills. MMMMM.....
Tomorrow's plans
Tomorrow I am going to do some online shopping...I am ordering our crib set for baby G...it's a cute pink and brown 10-piece set from Target Online. I also hope to order my new diaper bag. It is a bit of a splurge (totally uncharacteristic of me to splurge on a bag, or anything really) but it is for my birthday. The only problem is I fell in love with one, and have had to wait until now to order it because it only became available in May...and since I had to wait all that ime, I found one other one I love too and now am trying to decide between the two. Both are labels that are often highly recommended. Both are large (which I want), practical, SUPER cute but in very different ways...only $20 difference betweem them...I can't choose!!! And, I will buy some summer maternity clothes. I found some comfy looking shorts online the other day but wanted to ask Andy before going ahead and ordering them. He said "do whatever you do to be comfortable this summer...it's going to be long and hot". Yes, that is true. Then he said "As long as I don't come home one day and we have central air conditioning installed". That would be nice, but no I won't spend that kind of money without consulting my other (better? eh, who knows...) half. lol. I love you Andy.
Also tomorrow I hope to feel good enough to start a little organizing in Baby G's closet. It is totally full of crap. If I do, I will first go to Target and get some storage bins for some of the stuff in there. I have a feeling we will have a nice load to donate to the Salvation Army or something too.
Kaitlyn
How about the latest on how Kaitlyn is progressing...she has now been a full blown walker for quite awhile, and of course got the hang of getting up on her own in the middle of the floor. She still has 4 teeth. She hasn't said as many of the words she was saying but does say appropriately "baby" "kitty" "hi" "bye bye" "mama" "dada" and I am sure I am missing a few. She loves to wave hi and bye bye to people. She will clap, touch her nose, and touch her ears when you tell her to (unless she is distracted or being shy). I know I am forgetting things but those are among the cutest right now. Poor girl has caught a cold over this weekend. Seems like anytime we go away for a weekend, she gets sick. I suppose though, colds are to be expected. I just wish I could take her cold on and she could be all better! At least her hives are gone. Those were just awful.
Mother's Day
I got a really cute stuff for Mother's Day. I three cards...one each from Andy, Kaitlyn, and Baby G. Also from daycare I got a book "If you give a mom a muffin" which tells a cute story about giving mom a muffin, and a picture of each daycare kid doing something to illustrate that part of the story. On Kaitlyn's page, mom finds her 2 year old dumping out her purse. Of course there is a pic of Kaitlyn going through a bag. Very cute! And along with the book, I got an actual muffin...blueberry. It was very good :-) lol. On the outside of the bag was a heart shape with a rose in the middle, and Kaitlyn did a beautiful job of coloring the rose on her own. I should take a pic and post it!
By the way, Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there! I would have posted it on some of your pages but I wasn't home until late.
The End
Well I am running out of things to blog....It is 2 am and I couldn't sleep so I had some skim milk (a major pregnancy craving of mine...I go through gallons and gallons) and decided to come on the computer awhile and hopefully get tired. I better try and get more sleep now. Once again bravo if you read this whole thing. And sorry about any typos or if anything doesn't make sense. It is late and my tired/pregnant brain may have jumbled some things as I typed and edited stuff. Goodnight
Am I weird?
So Andy's alarm clock hasn't been set for awhile because when it goes out it is hard to reset. Mine is really easy so he has been using mine, or his cell phone. His cell phone is temporarily M.I.A right now so he wanted to use my clock last night. He tells me to set it for "6:15 or 6:20". I set it for 6:17. He says "what you can't make a decision so you compromised?"...No...I had to explain that I almost always set my alarm for a time ending in "7", Like 9:07 or 9:17 for example, when I set it to get up right before work. I like the number 7, what can I say. That, and it is a good compromise when it falls in the range of time you want to get up. But mostly because I just like to set it on something ending is 7.

Do I have a sign on the back of my car that says "Tailgate me!" ?
Sure felt like it today, both on the way to and from daycare. And no, I was not going slow. I was in the passing lane, going as fast as I could considering there were people right in front of me. And no, I didn't pull back over into the right lane because A.) We were still passing people even if it wasn't up to the speed the tailgaters preferred and B.) I had a left exit coming up.
So...I got home and had some icecream to calm myself down :-) I've been craving it lately and we finally got some. Neopolitan...mmmm. I love it. And seems that Baby G does, too. She was bouncing all around while I ate.
Oh and Kaitlyn's hives are getting better. She had to stay home from daycare yesterday. Well I don't know if she *had* too, but she was so broken out in hives, red and swelled up, that we didn't want to send her. Even though it isn't contagious. But today she is looking better. She still has the spots but they are fading, not bright red or swelled up any longer. I am so glad it is getting better...the doc said it could last from a couple of days to a couple of weeks, and I was afraid it would last a couple of weeks. Looks like it won't though, so yay!
Ok, I'm off to bed for the day. Goodnight!

One unfortunate way Kaitlyn takes after me...
One unfortunate way Kaitlyn takes after me...
So Kaitlyn has been on Amoxicillin for her ear infection. She has been on it before too, with no problems. But problems can pop up suddenly, and yesterday (which was the last day of the course of medication), it happened. During the morning at daycare she developed hives. All over her body! Andy picked her up from daycare while I made her an appointment. They said it is most likely an allergy to the Amoxicillin....just like mommy!! I get hives from it too (at least I did as a child). Poor girl! That is one uncomfortable looking rash she has. Tons of red, slightly raised blotches all over her body. Legs, arms, face, stomach, back, diaper area, ears...everywhere! Poor girl!

Blah blah blah....and blah. Long one.
On Saturday we went to Cabela's and showed Kaitlyn the fish in the aquarium there, and all the huge animal displays. And of course I could not go to Cabela's without getting Maple fudge from the fudge shop. If you've never been there...try to go sometime when you are in the area. They have a crap load of awesome kinds of fudge. You can try free samples of whatever you want, and they are always running specials (like this weekend was buy 4 pieces get 2 free). I LOVE their maple fudge but am also beginning to think I like the raspberry cheesecake fudge almost as much. So those are the two kinds I got, and then Andy got a peanut butter one and an Almond Joy one. I am not much for peanut butter/chocolate combos, or Almond personally.
Later in the day we took Taylor and Kaitlyn to the park. Kaitlyn was a little cranky unfortunately, because it turned out she was hungry. Falling face first onto the cement on a basketball court didn't help either...she got a good egg on her forehead out of that one! Which was weird because it didn't look like she hit her head, but the huge bump, and now black and blue mark, says otherwise.
Then after Kaitlyn went to bed, Andy and I headed to babies R Us. It is a good thing there isn't one near me in Duluth because Andy or I would have to take up a second job just to pay for my shopping if there was! And now that we have 2 to shop for instead of 1...well we spent a good amount of money let's just say that. I got some fun things like toys and clothes (for both girls) but also some essentials like crib sheets for the new baby, a new changing pad cover, soaps and lotion and what not for Kaitlyn, new nipples for our bottles and more. (Even if I breastfeed successfully which hopefully I will, I will want them for if I pump. Plus the likelihood of continuing breastfeeding past 3 months isn't too high anyways with my current work, so I will need them eventually either way). We stocked up on diapers (the prices there are great and plus they have huge cases of the brand we buy...case sizes that we can't find in Duluth). We got Kaitlyn's size (3) and a case of size 1's for "baby G". I think I should call her baby G until we have a name. G as in Ganoe of course...not that we are using a first name that starts with G. Anyways...I love Babies R Us and had a lot of fun....had to thank Andy for letting us spend the money without having a heart attack. We were also there towards closing time and I think ended up being about the last customers in there. They closed at 9:30 and we left around 9:20-9:25.
Saturday night was a little rough. We were sleeping in a different room than the night before, and this room was pitch black so I think when Kaitlyn woke up to such darkness, she got scared. She ended up sleeping with us in bed...not a habit we want to form since she has been such a dream (seriously, we have been incredible lucky) as far as sleeping in her own crib goes...but we had to do it. Poor girl sounded terrified once she really got going. At home the window probably shows some very, very dim light, as well as the power light on the monitor. So she isn't used to the pitch dark. She may have a nightmare too, who knows.
On Sunday we went to the Underwater Adventures aquarium in the Mall of America. It is fun to visit every now and then, and it was great watching Kaitlyn. Most of the time she was just looking all around. She was probably like "Wow, what the heck is this?!" She would follow big fish or sharks as they swam above our heads. Towards the end Andy said she was starting to point too. He was getting worried that she might freak out when we left, but she didn't. Oh and we we took a few pics, hopefully we can get those uploaded soon.
After the the mall, we started heading home. Partways home we stopped to eat and feed Kaitlyn, then went to the outlet mall so that I could go to the Carter's store....and I bought my girls even more clothes. Some really cute stuff for baby G and a lot of cute summer stuff for Kaitlyn. Again had to thank Andy for letting me, and for not having a heart attack at the $$$. Thanks hun! Now that Kaitlyn is a full time walker I've been meaning to get her good shoes to wear outside (not the flexible shoes she wears now) and I found a really cute pair there. Unfortunately they didn't have the size we wanted, so we settled for another pair. Turns out that pair is just as cute...we got them home and realized they have little flashing lights on them. Didn't realize that in the store, but they are pretty darn cute. We also stopped in a kitchen store and got a few new things, and checked out a toy store but didn't find too much there. Oh and SO exciting...I got my first pregnancy comment from a stranger. The check out lady at the kitchen store was talking to Kaitlyn and commenting how cute she is, then looked at me and said "And it looks like there is another in the oven!". This is very exciting because it means I am showing enough that people are comfortable mentioning it withtout fear that I might actually just be fat. Anyways...finally, it was straight home (except a stop at the gas station). Kaitlyn got really mad in the car for the last 20 minutes or so, but overall was amazing...considering she was in the car for the drive to the mall, then the mall to the outlet mall and then again all the way home...and in between driving was mostly in her stroller.
When we were just a couple of minutes away, Andy and I started telling her we were almost home. When we said that, she stopped crying and started clapping. It was really cute! Of course our cats were glad to see us...they always are after we've been gone. Kaitlyn was glad too, and was mostly smiles for the rest of the evening. We talked to our parents who told us that it was snowing in Crane Lake and Cook. Pretty crazy since when we left, it was 70 degrees in the cities. The sun was out in full force and it was almost HOT. Duluth was cloudly and a little chilly...but not snowing.
I have noticed lately that my feet are starting to swell up at the end of the day or after being on them a lot. Fun times! I also have been feeling Braxton-Hicks contractions already ("fake" or "practice" contractions...painless but still weird). I never really felt them with Kaitlyn so this is new.
Now tonight I am trying to be awake since I have to sleep tomorrow. I got up at 2 am and had the most amazing meal ever....a bowl of cereal. I realized I have been craving a bowl of cereal (rice krispies to be specific) since last week. We ran out of milk though...luckily my dear husband is amazing and ran to the store to get me some milk tonight after we got home. Even after being in the car for hours, he ran back out to get me milk. And let me tell you it was great. Thank you Andy! That is one thing that is the same as last pregnancy...I crave skim milk. Oh well, its not such a bad thing to be craving!
Okay, I am getting scared for the summer. I am going to be huge and pregnant and overheating. People have been reminding me of this a lot lately and I am getting freaked out. It will all be worth it though!
I am hoping that next weekend is nice because it is the fishing opener and we would like to go to Crane Lake. Andy's parents are in a new cabin this year which I haven't seen yet. And I want to catch fish, and maybe say hi to people I don't see often, and visit Vermilion falls. Love it there...when we worked at Voyagaire we used to spend a ton of time there. Many evenings we could be found walking there and just hanging out. Andy and I developed our initial friendship there...spent lots of time talking and getting to know eachother. And of course any time we go up to Crane for a weekend, we still go there. Now we can take Kaitlyn too (last summer we took her but she was too little to really notice her surroundings) and so that will be fun.
If you are still reading....bravo. This was a long one. I am just bored and need something to keep me awake. I don't know what I will do now though...maybe check out some of the blogs I like to read. (One really funny one from a labor and delivery nurse, one funny one from a Pharmacist, one where the girl has been trying to get pregnant for a couple of years and just finally did, and one written by a dad whose wife died the day after delivering their daughter. She died of a Pulmonary Embolism...blood clot. Was getting out of bed to go see her baby for the first time (she was born early so I think she was in the NICU), said she felt light headed, passed out, and died. Anyhow all of those blogs are addicting!!!
So...yeah...have a great day!

Updates on my spawn, and commercial vent
And as far as this child I am carrying goes....I am telling you, the girl does not rest!! No, she does rest...but during the times she is active, holy crap is she active. Andy felt her kick on the outside the other night, so I was pretty excited for that. She is one strong, wiggly little girl. I can't wait to meet her :-) We are still thinking of names but are starting to narrow the field a little, I think. Any suggestions?
And finally...this has nothing to do with anything but you know the commercial for air freshener, where they show the old food in the full garbage can emitting a foul odor (which is "visible" due to a green mist hovering above)? It really bugs me. If you have old food stinking up your kitchen, and especially if it is at the top of your already full garbage can...wouldn't you just take the garbage out rather than try to spray the smell away? Seriously!
