I got a call today that I failed my 1 hour glucose screening. The cut-off is 140 and I got a 147. So that means I have to do the 3 hour glucose test. If I fail that, then I am diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. However since I failed the 1 hr by so little, and I read only 1/3 of those who fail the 1 hr also fail the 3 hour, I am not too worried yet. I am just not looking forward to the stupid test. I have to eat at least 300g of carbs a day for the next 3 days, then no eating starting at 10 pm on Sunday night. My appointment is at 7:50 am on Monday. They take your blood, then you drink the sugary drink again only this one is twice as sugary as last time. Then they take your blood hourly for 7/4/08the next 3 hours. I hope I can find a good book or magazine to bring. Or that there are some interesting characters wandering around so I can entertain myself by people-watching.
