Fever and fog

Poor Kaitlyn - last night we ended up taking her to the ER because when it was her bathtime, I felt her and she was really hot. So we took her temp and it was 103.6. A little high for my comfort! They checked for the simplest and easiest things first, like ear infection, strep, bladder infection. Everything looks good. So then they had to take a crap load of blood for blood tests to check out more serious possibilities. The needle they stuck in (her arm, not finger) was huge. Poor girl. Anyhow they let us go because they didn't find anything bad in her blood tests. They are calling us this morning with more results from a few tests that take several hours to get results from, so we will see what they say.

Other than when her fever was at it's highest, she has been her perky old self. Even at midnight (4 hours later than bedtime) in the ER she was still running around like crazy. When we got her into the car seat for the ride home though, she started falling asleep literally instantly, before Andy even had her strapped in all the way. By the time we left her fever was down, but this morning it was back up to 101. I hope they call soon so that I know what is going on and can make arrangements for an appointment later today if necessary. Luckily I don't work tonight - if I did, I would have had to find a replacement because I worked last night (went in at 1 am, as soon as we finished in the ER and Andy made a run to Walgreens for ibuprofen so that we have both Tylenol and Ibuprofen now). If I had worked last night, and stayed up all day today, and then had to work tonight...I would have been up for like 42 hours straight - obviously not good for anyone let alone a 6.5 month pregnant woman. lol
So yeah, anyhow...lets hope for good news today. She doesn't even seem sick today other than her fever. Maybe it is a crazy teething fever? Who knows....but 104 was just too high to mess with last night.

And I have a quick vent - I am sick of the fog in Duluth. If you have ever experienced the super thick, freaky fog in Duluth, you know what I mean. And I am sick of it...it has been around every night/morning for several days. I especially hate driving to work in it. It's impossible to see anything, luckily I don't have a long drive and I have been there for 4.5 years so I know the way there like the back of my hand....but the fog is definitely one thing I don't love about Duluth. Until I lived here I never saw such fog.

Alright I better go....I have some stuff to do for work and I should get it done while Kaitlyn is happily playing on her own and watching Sesame Street.
