38 week appointment and a random vent

I need to go to bed because I work tonight and have been up since midnight, but I am starving so while I wait 5 minutes for my food to be done, here's a little update.

This was my last appointment! Everything was fine. The baby had the hiccups when she was listening to the heart. Heart rate was in 120's - 130's. Everything is normal. I asked about my swelling (pitting edema, where you can leave a dent in the skin with your finger or thumb) and she was not worried since my blood pressure was fine and what not.

She had a cancellation for next Tuesday (person who was scheduled already gave birth) so she asked if we would like to move up a day (we were originally scheduled for Wednesday). Of course we agreed! As I was typing this I got the call from the scheduler and my c-section is officially scheduled for September 2nd - 1 week and 1 day from today! It is at 8 am, and we have to be there at 5:30 am. I can't believe that (unless she comes early on her own) my baby's birthday will be September 2nd - and that is just days away. I am SO excited! No way was I going to turn it down - I am SO uncomfortable 100% of the time, and I waddle like a penguin because her head is so low, and I am just ready to be done now :-)

Andy finished up the room this weekend, all that is left is up to me (putting away clothes and getting "stuff" organized) which I will do in the days before surgery since my last night of work is the 28th (which is also our 4 year wedding anniversary, FYI).

In other news - a short vent. On my way home from the appointment today, I was merging onto 35, and a car was coming. I judged his speed and distance and decided that it would work best for me to wait for him to go rather than trying to get in ahead of him. So I stayed in the far right lane, waiting for him to go by. Well he slows down. So I speed up, thinking he is letting me in front of him. And he speeds up. So I slow down again. And he does too! I swear that he was doing it on purpose - matching my speed so that I would have a hard time getting in. He wasn't moving over to the next lane either, which also would have been nice of him. There was NOBODY else around, so no reason for him to not move over for me. He was just being an ass, there is no two ways around it. Why, I don't know. Finally, I just stepped on the gas HARD, I mean really put the pedal to the metal, and was able to get in front of him.

Jerk.

Yeah for the baby...I am excited that you get one more day less than what you thought you were get. Now I only have 4 months to go and I will be in your shoes. I feel like I am as big as I was when I was 7 months pregnant with Taylor.
