Just got back from the latest Baby G appointment. Tomorrow I am 36 weeks pregnant. It is crazy how fast time has gone by.
Since yesterday I have been feeling pretty sick. It started with some awful acid reflux during a nap, which lead into some throwing up, and ever since I have just not felt right. To help with the reflux, she advised cutting down on sugar, caffeine, chocolate, and pasta sauce type things. And to eat more frequent, smaller meals. She said tuna once a week would be good for me. She also prescribed Pepcid twice a day.
I was measuring 37 weeks, which is 1 week ahead of where I am, but 2 weeks less than I had been measuring in recent weeks. Know why? Because baby G has dropped into my pelvis. I had a pretty good idea of this already, since I have been feeling more pressure down there lately. Especially when I first get up from a laying or sitting position - It feels like the head is trying to break it's way out of my pelvic area. Quite uncomfortable and in certain positions, painful. Anyhow my suspicions about baby having dropped were confirmed when the doctor said "Wow, this baby is really down low". Good to know I'm not nuts, doc, but was the surprised look on your face really necessary?
I am not dilated at all so that is good. She didn't say, or make it sound like there was any reason to think the baby would come earlier, but I got the sense that she would not necessarily be surprised. Just by the way she said "Let's try and make it 2 more weeks". I might just be paranoid though, who knows. In any case, Andy asked me to pack up my hospital bag today so that we are prepared. Like the lady in the elevator commented..."you just never know". Thanks, lady.
