How are we doing?

Well, we survived New Years. Brianna was on nebulizer treatments every 6 hours for a few days, but is now well past that. She is doing much better - just a leftover cough/congestion. Her stubborn fever is gone, her wheezing is gone, and she is not as tired as she was.
Kaitlyn has developed a minor cold, it seems. She had a low grade fever the other morning, and her nose is running like crazy along with a little cough...but it is winter, so what else would we expect? I can deal with minor colds - I'd much rather have a minor cold than what Brianna had.

Andy and I both ended up sick as well, with something similar to what Brianna had. Lots of gross congestion, coughing, sneezing, etc. We are on the road to recovery now too, but still have a few symptoms hanging on. You know how it is...these things tend to hang on for-ev-er!

My dad was released from the hospital this past Monday, so we are happy about that. He was supposed to be released Sunday, but got held back by some chest pain just before discharge. Luckily all tests turned out okay, so he was able to go home Monday.

So yeah..it has been a busy time for us but things seem to be calming down now. The next big thing to worry about it Kaitlyn's birthday party, which will be coming up next month. I better start thinking about what we are going to plan!

hey! i just read something that was a study on winter sicknesses... and it has less to do with winter, and more to do with the food we eat during the holidays. sugars and high fructose corn syrups, etc, cookies and etc junk food we end up eating over the holidays end up hurting our immunne system enough that we become suseptible to all kinds of things that we normally wouldnt. people who make sure to limit sweets during the winter and eat more fruits veggies and whole grains/legumes stay healthier all winter dispite being crammed indoors with all the germs. (that also has a good effect on colds in winter: being stuck indoors spreading germs easier through air and etc heating systems)
anyway... brody apparently has an intestinal thing today.. icky poo 2 times today.... and it is AWEFULLY uncomfortable!:(
i hope kaitlyn doesnt get too bad sick, just gets better from here... :D
