Product Recommendation: Swaddle Me

I ordered a Swaddle Me blanket from Babies R' Us and was very excited to receive it yesterday. We tried it out last night, and I am not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but Brianna slept great. She was up twice overnight, which is good for her. She slept from 9:00 to 1:00 and then 1:30 to 5:30, and then 5:30 to 9:30 (roughly). It was great - I was able to get some things done this morning. She is now napping in it, and doing good so far. It is usually very hard to get her to nap anywhere but my arms during the day. I love it of course (who doesn't like to cuddle with the baby), but it makes it hard to get anything done. And I also don't want to condition her to ONLY be able to nap in my arms (which happened with Kaitlyn and it took us some work to get her to nap in her crib). We need a happy medium, you know? So anyways... time will tell if this is just a coincidence, or if the Swaddle Me blanket really is what we needed all along. (She breaks right out of her swaddle when we use regular receiving blankets - then gets mad when her arms/legs are flailing around).

So if you have or will have a newborn and plan on swaddling (or find that you need to swaddle even if you hadn't planned on it) - I highly recommend the Swaddle Me blanket. You can get it at Babies R' Us for $10. Not bad! Of course, here in Duluth (or Northern Minnesota) there is no Babies R' Us around - but you can order it online like I did.

now now, dont get all ready to stop holding her yet! the crib is cold, hard, lonely and impersonal :( babies dont like them. brody hardly used his until after he was like 6 months old LOL.
the first 3 months (or so) is the 4th trimester... baby is still doing a lot of adjusting, and the fact that you arent there sometimes is gonna freak her out. brody took longer than other kids to get over that... but that was ok.
get a moby wrap. super comfortable, and super nice when you have other things to do when baby wont let you put her down. it takes some finangling, you always have to wrap it way tighter than you think you do... but its so comfortable when you get it right.. its so worth it. you can even use it when they are older.... i still try to use it with brody sometimes ! :D

www.askdrsears.com - awesome advice there. i know you've been through this before, but you may be surprised how different 2nd children can be....

I had 3 of them for Ziah. I'm just sad she outgrew them. I had 1 fleece and 2 fuzzy soft ones from Kiddopotomus. She started sleeping through the night 1 day before she turned 2 months old and has slept good ever since. Donovan on the other hand was the same as Kaitlyn. He slept with us every night and I held him during all his naps. I swore I would not do that again the next time around- he still wakes up in the night and still won't sleep in his bed. We have finally started just letting him sleep on blankets on our floor because he won't stay by himself. Ziah sleeps so much better being in her crib (even during naps) than she does being held.

These are wonderful things. I do have 2 for the new baby. The great news is that they don't go bad because Taylor likes to but her babies in them and swaddle them. You will get the real life use and then "play" use. Well worth the money spent!
